It’s timely that as we cheer on our athletes in the green and gold, this week Safetrac has been recognised as an Australian Made and Australian Owned company.
Across the globe, the last 16 months have brought unforeseen challenges to our economies and our social welfare. It is likely why the first day of competition in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games delivered the biggest day of live streaming in Australian television history, as we look for moments to celebrate and to support our team in the same way we have supported each other through the pandemic.
And it’s not just Aussie athletes that are benefitting from this support. Research has found that nine in 10 Aussies believe Australia should be producing more products locally following the COVID-19 pandemic. Major reasons include reducing our reliance on other countries, creating jobs, supporting business and industry, safeguarding supply chains, and strengthening Australia’s economy.
What it means to be Australian Made
Established in 1999 by the Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the network of state and territory chambers of commerce, Australian Made Campaign Limited is a not-for-profit that has been administering the Australian Made logo to products that are certified as ‘genuinely Australian’.
Astoundingly, 99 per cent of Australians recognise the logo, and 92 per cent are confident that products carrying it are authentically Australian.
Safetrac, also founded in 1999, has been genuinely Australian since its inception. The famous Australian Made logo is underpinned by a rigorous third-party accreditation system and having Safetrac courses accredited gives our partners confidence they are supporting local business and – by extension – directly supporting the Australian economy.
What it means to be Australian Owned
To reach full Australian Owned certification, a business must be verified by the responsible social enterprise, then demonstrate significant and considerable Australian influence in their business operations.
Today, Safetrac delivers engaging compliance training to more than 425 clients across 23 industries and is recognised as providing the best compliance training programs across Australia1. Our clients can benefit from knowing not only are they receiving best-in-breed compliance training, but they are partnering with an Australian-owned, reliable company with the processes, security, and support to deliver top tier service.
A cause for celebration
Whether it’s the clothes we wear, the food we eat, or the companies we partner with – when we support Aussie made and owned, we can be confident that our dollars will deliver certainty for local businesses, create local jobs, and strengthen the Australian economy and supply chain.
As our Aussie athletes continue to make us proud on the international stage, we are proud to be celebrating our certification at a critical juncture for Australia’s economic and social wellbeing.
